A check for $150.00 was donated to the Marlborough Community Services Food Pantry from the Marlborough Area Newcomers and Neighbors on Friday, October 3, 2003.

Fatinha R. Kerr, Executive Director of Marlborough Community Services, accepted the check from Wendi Murphy, president of the Newcomers Club, and Anna McGlynn, Charitable Projects Committee, Newcomers Club.

The Newcomers Club raised the donated funds by holding their annual September yard sale. All unsold but usable goods from the yard sale were also donated to the MCSFP.

Ms. Kerr welcomed the club’s donation, and said this past year has seen a huge increase in demand on the pantry, but community donations have not kept up with the demand. She also said donations are accepted at the pantry Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., or by appointment.
